Savings of more than £380,000 through sharing services with South Hams District Council has helped West Devon Borough Council set the lowest council tax increase in seven years.

On 10th February 2010, the Local Government Minister announced the Government proposal that Exeter should become a unitary authority joining Torbay & Plymouth within the geographical county of Devon
